In adherence to the executive order issued on April 1, 2020, by Governor Kemp, the McDuffie County School System will remain closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. The school system will continue to follow all directives from state and local officials during this time and encourage all citizens to do the same.
This decision is for the protection of our students, faculty and staff as well as to support statewide and nationwide efforts to slow the spread of the virus. Resources for students will continue to be listed and updated on the school system webpage and Facebook through the end of the school year. Questions about a student's assignments or lessons can be directed to his/her teacher(s). Email addresses are located within the staff directories for each school's website or within the Parent Portal.
Additionally, all athletic practices and competitions are canceled per the advice of Georgia High School Association. Field trips, employee travel, and after-school programs and activities are suspended.
The McDuffie County School System will continue its “Grab-n-Go” program until further notice. At this time, the program will provide breakfast and lunch for students at three sites within the community. Any changes to the schedule will be announced on the system website and Facebook.
The sites will be open for breakfast beginning at 7:45 and ending at 8:45. Lunch will be available from 11:15 until 12:30. The sites will be open Monday-Friday.
Each site will have a table set-up on the exterior which will allow for students to “Grab-n-Go” breakfast and lunch.
