Welcome to Room 411....

My name is Kimberly Hunter and I teach 3rd grade here at Thomson Elementary. This is my 25th year teaching in McDuffie County.

My Education background includes the following:

I received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Paine College, teacher certification from Augusta State University, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership through Troy State University, and Ed. Specialist in Teaching and Learning through Augusta State. I am a certified Teacher Support Specialist, a mentor to new/aspiring teachers, and an active member of MAE/GAE/NEA. I am also a PBIS committee member and Gifted Certified. I currently serve as the chairperson for third grade. I recently became a Level 1 Google Certified Educator. Last year, I was named McDuffie County's Teacher of the Year! I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to represent the finest educators in the district.

My husband Roy (Chris) and I reside in Lincolnton, GA, and are owners of Roy C. Hunter Trucking, Inc. Together our family consists of five children: Roy II, Jasmine, Brittany, Chandler (CJ), and Kendall.

Ms. Rhodes and I are team teaching your child this year in a co-teaching setting. We are committed to providing each child with a quality, standards-based education that ensures each student's success. We are proud to be a part of both you and your child's third grade learning experience and look forward to a successful school year.
